The Year in Review – Our 2021 Adventure

” Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it life. ” – Robin Sharma

As we look back on the past year, it was full of life changes and major events. We are a long way from where we were this time last year. Some things have changed so much, while some things, like the constant pestering of ‘hungry’ cats, never change. We hope that 2022 brings new adventures and opportunities.

We had fun reviewing our past year and we hope you do too!

This Time Last Year

January

Our local parks and outdoor spaces shut down, leaving very few places to be outside of the townhome.

February

With no power or water for days during a winter storm, we fired up the charcoal and ate by candlelight.

March

After a year of empty shelves and working from the kitchen table, we were all tired.

April

Shelby defended her dissertation virtually and then celebrated with real hot dogs and balloons.

May

Shelby didn’t have a real graduation, but bought this generic robe on eBay and had a memorable photoshoot anyways.

June

As the summer heat set in, with nowhere to go, Tom turned to Bob Ross and brandy for inspiration.

July

Tom and Miel hid in the air conditioning as the 100°F heat turned the outdoors into a sauna.

August

We made our first real adventure out, since 2019, to beautiful Colorado. We didn’t know we’d be back so soon.

September

Shelby got a job offer and we hopped on a plane to go house hunting.

October

We packed up our three-story townhome and left the big city, the skyscraper views, the dense urban feeling, and of course… the tacos.

November

We ditched the Texas plates as fast as we could so that the neighbors didn’t see.

December

We headed out on multiple adventures, ready to see what’s out there.

New Year’s Eve 2021

Plenty of fresh snow to ring in the New Year!
