Happy Thanksgiving!

” As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. ” – John F. Kennedy

This week was quiet, as many of our coworkers, friends, and neighbors jetted off to see family, brave the grocery stores, and tirelessly cook.

What was not quiet, however, were the ten thousand Canadian Geese that have swarmed the local lakes, prompting drawn-out discussions over whether they are or are not worse than Seagulls. Despite the army of horrible flying monsters that have invaded, we enjoyed some local donuts and time outside. This week also brought our first city snow. The cats were very confused looking out the window.

Tom and I enjoyed a steak-and-fries Thanksgiving dinner, as I realized that we had a lot to be thankful for this year. A new job, a new city, and a lot more mountains!
