Gordon Gulch – With Moose

” If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I bet they’d live a lot differently. When you look into infinity, you realize there are more important things than what people do all day. ” – Calvin and Hobbes

In a last-minute escape from all of the holiday parades and festivities happening in the city, we headed up to the cool town of Nederland to car camp. Car camping is great because you can bring 10 blankets and camp chairs and also stop for pizza and still call it camping somehow.

After coming back to camp from a nearby hike we realized we had been joined by two bull moose who lingered for quite some time, taking time out of their tree-munching to stare at us. I wasn’t eager to see more moose after the panicked-moose encounter this summer, but these guys didn’t seem to mind us.

We packed up earlier than intended with a strong wind storm coming in, blowing dust into our tents and pushing the tent frames down. Thankfully it wasn’t a long drive home.

Camping with the Stars

It was hard to choose between the beautiful stars and the warm tent.
